    EXTREME CAUTION ADVISED!

Entered the ICW southbound from the St. John near low tide on 10/20. Marked channel well to the west of channel shown on Spring 2018 edition of chart. My track shows we were well into the shallow water. Bottom came up quickly to less than 6 feet midway between red buoy and green piling markers. Believe the red was #6. Several boats in the area at same time and found thing. Carefully moved east in 7 to 8 feet to old channel and found deep water in that channel. Strongly advise checking with CG or local tow boat company for updated information.

Utch's is always a pleasant experience. Good people and fair prices. Docks could use some upgrades.

It's a nice marina with competent staff. Easy in and out. That's the good. We were there on rainy Sunday afternoon/night, so the outside facilities of restaurant were essentially closed. If the weather had been nice, we understand this is a "happening" place. If that's your thing great. If not, forewarned.

Beaufort is a nice place to visit. Dock staff competent, helpful and friendly. Be aware and plan for the strong currents. Passing smaller boats don't slow, so face dock can be a bit bouncy, particularly when the wind is up.

Was fortunate enough to catch a good tide and stay overnight. Dockmaster couldn't have been nicer or more helpful! Reasonable fuel price. Will stay again if the ICW gets dredged or the tides coordinate with our overnight schedule.
