This was my second stay at Deep Point Marina in Southport. The first was two years ago when I came through the area with another captain. I stayed three nights this time around to take advantage of reasonable rates and their sheltered basin to wait out rough weather. Docks in great shape. Good facilities including fast WiFi, restrooms with clean private showers, laundry, and a pool. Great, friendly, helpful staff. Dog friendly; lots of places to walk your pup for exercise and potty breaks. Conveniently located at the Bald Island Ferry terminal if you want to make a trip to the island without taking your own boat through what is usually a rough inlet and paying the much higher per foot rate at the Bald Head Island Marina. (Keep in mind that you don't want to come into the basin as the ferry is leaving; the channel is relatively narrow.) Note that this marina is NOT in downtown Southport; it's about 1 1/2 miles by bike or foot. The area is served by taxi companies. Recommended.

Good stop on the way up the ICW. Spent one night while on the Loop. I spent the night on the t head. The bathrooms were clean and free laundry available. Semi sheltered marina with ferry boats coming and going. 2 miles to get to South Port so an easy bike ride or $10.00 Uber. Dock master was very helpful.

Great dockmaster, great staff, great service. Fuel and pumpout available. Note - there is traffic in and out with a ferry ... be mindful.

Spent 3 nights here. Dock master very helpful. Dredging equiptment is on site, ready to start in the next few days. Docks are well maintained. Pump out is self-service and really slow. 2 miles to downtown. Pool will be open very soon.

April 10 visited the marina. New transit rate is $1.75' daily and $15' monthly. Dockmaster said he was hoping to get the place dredged later this year. Facilities are nice but the ferries are noisy and kick up some wakes in maneuvering. Unfortunately the ferries kick up silt especially during rising tides which makes the need for dredging here more often than other marinas. The nice ferry dock has a nice snack shop if you need some food though. Sturdy floating docks. Not really close to Southport for walking but you can bike there.

Had some power problems at another marina and Deep Point accommodated our last minute request. Service and support were 5 star plus. Very quiet yet quick bike ride to town. Well protected and easy in out to ICW or Cape Fear inlet. Definitely on the future stop list when running North/South

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Deep Point Marina. Easy in and out paying attention to the current. Dockmaster is outstanding. Provided great assistance on arrival, fueling and offered guidance on local area establishments. Yes, the ferries come and go but when below decks they are not noticed. I plan to stop here again if they have space available.

As wide beam transients we were put on the dock next to the ferry terminal. The ferry captains have complete disregard for other vessels in the marina.

Don’t count on getting any rest here. This is a ferry terminal and they arrive on the hour, wake the marina and blast their horn.
On the other hand, the marina is nice and the staff very helpful and friendly.

Very nice Marina. Excellent crew. Showers, seasonal pool, laundry, fuel, pumpout, water. People ferry to Bald Head Island and about one mile from car ferry to Fort Fisher. Short taxi ride to town.
