Many boat for a small place. Restaurent around are nice but not cheap. All of them have a dinghy dock. Quiet place and no bugs in mid October.

There is a dinghy dock to the right of the Maryland Sailing Association (a sign faces the water at the Assn). Look for a dock with a pumpout and 2 benches on it. The town doesn't particularly advertise the fact that you can get ashore here.

We paused here but didn't anchor. There 14' of depth and tides rises 1-2'. The location is along the main fairway to town and adjacent to several private docks. Chatted with a local boater who mentioned this is in the middle of local boat traffic. Boaters should assess traffic and tides before anchoring.

Popped in just for the night on our late southerly journey. Dinghied to the Tiki bar dock, which is in disrepair and roped off, all but the first 10'. The pooch stretched his legs as we took a stroll along the cove. Several options for eating, although we didn't partake.
The holding was good as was the wind and swell protection.

Solomons Island is a nice place. More marinas than restaurants I think. They have a nice walkway along the river but not much else. Only saw 3-4 restaurants. We did not take the bikes and it was late so we didn’t go farther. For live/loud music you have to find the Tiki Bar. Can’t really miss it. Party central with outside live music. Near Naval base and Oceanography operations. Food is not bad. Not high end but an OK ½ pound burger/fries for $12. Canned beer only, plus mixed drinks of course. There are higher end eateries at some of the marinas. Only spent one night. Not many places to anchor inside but you can manage if you don’t mind tight places in calm weather. Several branches to anchor in. Worth a visit. Fuel was cheaper here.

Most convenient anchorage for access to the dinghy dock at the pump out dock. It is a little exposed in an east wind. But other wise a fine anchorage. Good access to restaurants and the University of Maryland Marine Biological Center. Have to Uber to the grocery store though.

Not crowded, likely due to the Tiki Bar and Sargent's Grill being permanently closed and for sale. (Dock is still there.) Convenient to restaurants.
