Of the park’s 59 islands, Beausoleil Island is the largest. Here the hardy evergreens of the northern Canadian Shield meet the deciduous hardwood forest of the southern lowlands. Many cruisers visit beautiful Beausoleil Island and enjoy miles of hiking trails. On the southern end the trails take you through verdant, lowland forests. On the northern end the trails lead through Canadian Shield-like bedrock and wetlands fertile with amphibians, turtles and snakes including the Eastern Massassauga Rattlesnake so wear boots when walking in the bush.
