Boating Destinations near the Bruce Peninsula, Georgian Bay, ON, CAN
Owen Sound is steeped in marine history. In 1911, the harbor held 643 vessels, many of which were passenger ships carrying railway passengers for the western lines of the Canadian Pacific Railway. Today, only the occasional freighter visits the harbor but lots of pleasure boats stop in. Owen Sound is a good spot for provisioning. For evening entertainment, the city has restaurants, lounges, movies and theater. Owen Sound is quite lively during the summer and fall.
