Be EXTREMELY careful here!!! There are unmarked cables in this anchorage that will snag your anchor! Happened to us. It is essential that you have an anchor buoy or trip line. This is a really wonderful spot to anchor in the right conditions....lunch stop or over night and we will certainly do it again, but this time with a trip line.

    • WG Editor Comment:

Note per the review, cables are not charted.

Nice marina! The marina is a 3 block walk through the charming town to the commercial/restaurant area. Unlike the town docks, this marina does not contend with current/wake. Loaner car, single shower and free laundry. Very nice people. This is an active shrimp dock/store...be nice to them and they may give you a free pound of fresh shrimp.

Great marina. Short walk to the very nice community, shops and restaurants. Be sure to attend Hank Pomeranz's helpful weather/cruising briefing held nightly. Also, if you need service, Zimmerman Marine is very responsive...ask for Steve.

Where else can you get such service! We called ahead to request dockage and an oil change...within 45 minutes of landing Ethan was in the engine room changing the oil...not a drop spilled! During the course of conversation we mentioned that we were out of our favorite Trader Joe's coffee...later that day 2 containers of TJ's coffee showed up! Can't beat this place for customer satisfaction...and great fuel prices! Keep up the great work!

Nice community. Marina has twin 30amp plugs per post and water. Good restroom/shower facilities. Free loaner bikes. Nice community with several restaurants nearby. Bridge can be a bit noisy.
