Welcome relief after choppy Chesapeake. Calm entry, tight but well marked. No restaurant close by but nice quiet place. Owner nice man. Fairly well stocked store. Clean facility. Good stop.

Was towed in after fuel(out) and water leak. Sea tow Karl was great, marina manager had to wait for us and assured us he could get us on our way. Got welcome basket. Good restaurants close.(Lewinsky 's). However, the "mechanic" looked at the leak and suggested Uber to pep boys for leak repair supplies and said"um, interesting"regarding the fuel issue. We did Uber to a(Wal Mart). Needed spare filter for fuel problem and gave marina manager part# and old filter. He ordered different brand, arrived, was not right, he was annoyed with me. Magma grill use not allowed (vehemently). DYI'd own repairs. Good stop for gas and restaurants and they had a well stocked marine store. But, I think I would have got back on the water sooner if towed back to the Jersey side. I was new to this boat, and would have paid a boat mechanic if one was interested. Got thank you note mailed to my home.

    • WG Editor Comment:

Marina response: Waterway Guide! I apologize for not realizing you have a place for comments and reviews! I read with hysterics the review of the Delaware City Marina by Mr. Hutchins. Here's the whole story: Towed to the marina, the dock staff asked if they needed fuel as the boat approached the marina.. All the crew aboard the vessel, drinks in hand, roared, NO! "We know exactly what's wrong!!" After three days on the dock, and many fruitless DIY maintenance tasks, the crew decided it was time to add fuel to empty tanks. PRESTO! the engines roared back to life! (BTW, At no point did the crew desire to put in a work order but did all the tasks themselves.) The first night, they attempted to grill steaks with no less than 4' flames leaping into the air as the grill dripped flaming grease down the port stern quarter. The dock was crowded. The dock is ipa wood. What mariner cooks with reckless abandon in a crowded harbor? The captain was quick to point out that the boat could not burn as it was built as a patrol craft during Vietnam War. BTW, the next day a marina and vessel burned in the northern Chesapeake because of a captain's carelessness. Reviews always have two sides. Tim Konkus

Little tricky getting in off bay. Crab pots&crab pots. Long floating transient dock. Nice staff. Clean facilities. Continental breakfast. Self serve gas on smaller dock before bridge. Best fish&chips ever. Good stop. Have courtesy car.

Good stop. Good restaurant. Entrance a little tricky but worth the effort after being beat up on Chesapeake.
