April 9 2024 Nice wide area good for many boats. Short distance off ICW for fast in and out. Good holding . Some crab pots but not too bad. Four boats here this time. Good place to stage going through Hell Gate. Some bugs but you are in Marsh land. ATT Verizon cell coverage OK. Good TV signals from Savannah. I have anchored further up this creek on several occasions.

Buckhead Creek Anchorage.

Meridian 408, 4 ft. Draft, 35 lb. Delta plow anchor.
We arrived near low tide. Anchored in 15 ft. of water. The tide went down about 2 more feet before swinging back to incoming. The anchor bit on the first try and held well all night.

The anchorage is beautiful, with plenty of room. The winds were calm, so I can't comment on protection. The current was pretty strong, but the anchor held. We watched the dolphins play in the water. Also saw a georgous sunset and watched the sun rise the next morning. The coordinates where we anchored were N 31, 48.96, and W 081 08.592.

Nice quiet anchorage. Not too much wind protection.

if northbound, good place to wait for tide at Hell Gate; wide and deep; plenty of room; 33 digital antenna channels; plenty of depth; anchored in 16 feet (low tide) and let out 115 ft; buggy even with 9 mph wind; good holding; 8 - 9 ft tidal changes. Didn’t go too far into creek – Buckhead top
