ICW Bear River to Jekyll Island, GA

The ICW follows the Bear River as it empties into St. Catherines Sound. This is the first in a series of sounds connected by rivers that you will pass through as you transit the Georgia portion of the ICW. Other sounds along this stretch include Sapelo Sound, Doboy Sound, Altamaha Sound, Buttermilk Sound, St. Simons Sound, Jekyll Sound and St. Andrews Sound. Some of these sounds are large and exposed enough to get rough, but they also provide a nice change of pace from the rivers and land cuts to the north.
