The Kawartha Lakes stretch across Ontario in a series of long, loop-like passages. They offer unlimited cruising, both on and off the main waterway.
In total the lakes are almost 70 miles long and comprise a dozen or more lakes ranging from tiny Lovesick Lake to 14-mile-long Sturgeon Lake. Canals and locks connect the lakes with a number of small, quaint towns in between.
This is one of the most rugged and beautiful passages of the waterway. It is an ideal spot to cruise slowly and relish side trips. Scenic anchorages abound.

Trenton is a busy stopover for boaters traveling east and west along the bay or heading inland through the Trent-Severn. The wide range of tourist offerings make this community a worthy stop. An abundance of heritage and culture awaits your discovery in the form of monuments, public spaces and historic architecture. The city is billed as a "natural attraction" due to the many outdoor activities it offers in all four seasons. There are spectacular walking and cycling trails conveniently located along the water. There is even a Cheddar & Ale Trail and a Chocolate and Apple Trail. If you have transportation, check out Signal Brewery in Corbyville, which has a patio overlooking the river and sells bar fare and craft brews (613-779-8633).
