Anchorage Review for Allen-Leaf Cay Central
Reviewed by: Doug Snyder on Feb 14, 2022
Vessel Type: Sail
LOA: 37'
Draft: 4.2'Overall Rating:Holding:Wind Protection:Current Flow:Scenic Beauty:Ease of Shopping:Shore Access:Cell Service:This anchorage was great when the wind was from the South to the SW. Once the wind shifted out of the West, and especially with a northern component, I and most other boats were rocking uncomfortably in the swell. In stronger winds from the west through the north I found it more comfortable on the east side of Leaf Cay.

Draft: 4.2'Overall Rating:Holding:Wind Protection:Current Flow:Wake Protection:Scenic Beauty:Ease of Shopping:Shore Access:Pet Friendly:Cell Service:WiFi:I anchored at the Southwest mouth. Great holding. Current, I thought, was minimal. Cell phone coverage, with cellular internet, was spotty but I got it by placing my phone in a high location. Calm, tranquil, anchorage in a late November.
