This was a very difficult inlet with significant movement from the charted depths. We saw significant shoaling from the east well into the "channel" on Navionics. We saw depths of 5' at several points and I wouldn't attempt this pass again.

St Andrews is a notorious inlet as stated all buoys removed as has constantly shifting shoals. Local knowledge only use. The distance between St Simons and St Mary's inlets makes it not worth the risk to use. Both St Simons and St. Marys are very well marked and maintained commercial large ship inlets. Look at the 20 mile charted distance off between their safe water buoys STS and STM marking the entrance. There is no reason to risk that entrance. Glad you survived.

Came through middle of April 2020 as directed by Navionics, Realized the boys were missing but by that point it was too late soft grounded… Do not use this as an inlet!

St Andrews Inlet was closed to navigation over a year ago. All ATONs have been removed. The channel was not maintained and it had shoaled in to the point that it was no longer considered safe. If someone recently entered it they were extremely lucky.

We spoke with some locals today at Jekyll Island and they said that the Coast Guard removed the bouys because they don't want people using this inlet because of shoals. I haven't verified this but we didn't see the light house shining last night. It could be true.
