Preferred Product: TideSlide Gets Our Attention

One of the benefits of attending boat shows is the opportunity to see not only all the new designs and models of boats, but also to visit with other vendors and exhibitors. We've seen a lot of concepts come and go over the years. Some good and some…well, let's just say not every idea is worth pursuing.

One company that we've followed and watched consistently advance is TideSlide. At first, it seems like an obviously simple solution to securing your boat or floating dock. And it is. But when you dive into the details, it's clear that the TideSlide team has worked out details that change the way we think about tying up our boats.

For old salts, we've grown up thinking about how best to set the lines to accommodate varying water levels. Especially if we are at fixed docks or pilings. Crossed lines, spring lines, hip lines all come into play. Floating docks are easier, but often there remains a fixed piling or two to take into consideration.

The TideSlide concept of engineering, as easily defined as possible, is that every piling or point of attachment becomes a floating dock – in reverse. The boat moves up and down with changing water levels as it will, while the lines move with it on slides attached to the fixed structures.

This simple concept is made more effective and efficient through TideSlide's use of materials and designs that eliminate binding and chafe. That's the 'aha moment' that we came away with after querying their team at a recent boat show. Ask any question and you get a confident answer, "yes, we've got that covered."

Good ideas and good execution make for good outcomes. TideSlide has taken a basic concept and turned it into a solution for a problem that vexes many boat owners, marinas, and owners of docks. Take a few minutes to visit them online. You'll see why they make the list of a Waterway Guide Preferred Product.
