A service that has been in the works for years has finally come to fruition as The Association of Bahamas Marinas Executive Committee announces that the ABM has, at last, developed a method for collecting on Government's behalf the 4% tax on chartered cruises - Bahamas Sea-Z Pass.

  • It was developed in partnership with the Omni Financial Group and branded as the Bahamas Sea-Z Pass, it will compensate for the disappointment we felt when Click2Clear failed to live up to our expectations.
  • Bahamas Sea-Z Pass will collect the charter fees as well as the individual boater cruising fee for Government and will pay all fees directly and immediately to the Government, for which ABM will receive a commission.
  • The ABM will use the proceeds to promote boating activity to our country and to help maintain aids to navigation in The Bahamas.
  • We have made a presentation to the Deputy Prime Minister/Minister of Finance and the Minister of Tourism & Aviation with favourable reaction.
  • We now await information from the Government as to which bank account the revenue is to be directed.

We are aware that competitive sites are in development, but are confident that our members will recognize the benefit to themselves and the association to promote use of the Bahamas Sea-Z Pass portal.
