Ahoy from SIGMACHI! This season we will primarily be cruising locally in the mid/upper sections of the Chesapeake Bay...home-porting out of Nabbs Creek Marina ...near the mouth of the Patapsico River. I pilot the boat from the main helm most of the time for both convenience and all-around visibility. The Garmin 8610 Chart Plotter with fathometer is located there; my iPad pro is there in a mount running Navionics. I like the numerous superior navigation features of Navionics to the built-in Garmin features of the 8610 chart plotter. I do like comparing the charted posions of each especially in narrow channels or "skinny" water. A third "backup" device is my Samsung Note 9 "smart phone" with a thin steel plat stuck to its back and held in a vacant spot on my instrument panel by a stand with a magnet. This device is also running Navionics. Both the Samsung and iPad are connected to a very robust auxiliary battery pack to ensure power continuity for a full day of cruising. I use the iPad with Navionics as the "main course following device." All three plotter screens are readily visible to me. The Samsung zoomed for a "distant view," the Garmin 8610 for a "close up view," and the iPad for the "actual (course following) view." The Samsung also has WaterwayGuide.com running in the background for fast retrieval of NOTICE TO MARINERS, MARINAS, AND SUGGESTED ANCHORAGES. Very handy since I can remove it from the dash and glace at the WWG functions up close while still maintaining "eyes on" operation of the boat. Meanwhile, my bride, Jeanne, has her iPad running AquaMap at her computer work station (yes, when aboard, she manages her real estate business) glancing at our traveled course and heading frequently. The Waterway Guide functionality of AquaMap is also utilized by here in helping to select where we will be staying the evening. In summary, the crew of SIGMACHI utilized WaterWayGuide.com as an integrated part of the vessel's navigation system. Tight Lines! Alan Alan & Jeanne Cecil M/V SIGMACHI

Waterway Guide is doing a wonderful job in developing these essential tools for safe and pleasurable boating. We can't thank you enough. On top of that, the cost to obtain all this information is a real bargain. We have relied on Waterway Guide for many years of boating and look forward to seeing what you come up with next.
