City Island is only 1.5 miles long and one-half miles wide but it’s a vibrant nautical community with copious seafood restaurants, yacht clubs (all on Eastchester Bay), several university sailing teams, many maritime historic landmarks and numerous yacht yards and marine centers. City Island Avenue is lined with shops, restaurants and galleries, making it a great spot for a leisurely stroll.
City Island is renowned for its seafood and dining scene, with a variety of restaurants serving fresh, locally-sourced seafood and other dishes. Visitors can enjoy a seafood feast while taking in views of the harbor. If you are visiting in early June, the annual City Island Arts and Crafts Fair showcases the work of local artists and craftspeople and is a great opportunity to pick up unique souvenirs and gifts.
