- Description:
Junkanoo Beach is the closest anchorage to the western entrance to Nassau Harbour and there is an excellent view of the cruise ship docks. It is very convenient to the Fish Fry at Arawak Cay as well as the tourist area of downtown Nassau.
There is good protection from the northeast through northwest, but it is open to the north. When the winds exceed 15 knots from any direction there will be periods of rolling at the change of the tide, but if the winds are from the north, the roll will be constant regardless of the tide.
DISCLAIMER: Before committing to an anchorage, you should confirm that the location is not governed by a regulation that may conflict with your plans. An increasing number of states and municipalities are enacting laws that define where and how long you may anchor.
