Pelican Cays
- Location: Abaco
- Lat / Lon: N 26° 24.214' / W 076° 58.884'
- Depth: 7'-10'
- Tide: 2.5'-3.0'
- Description:
The anchorage is exposed from all directions except east, but it fronts a very pretty beach making it a good candidate for a lunch stop, or to take a pet ashore. In settled conditions it is also an alternative to the Sandy Cay anchorage for larger vessels that can dinghy their crews over to the dive moorings. It is not uncommon to see larger center consoles with their motors titled high and their bows on the beach. Larger vessels can anchor on a shelf of sand that is immediately in front of the beach.
DISCLAIMER: Before committing to an anchorage, you should confirm that the location is not governed by a regulation that may conflict with your plans. An increasing number of states and municipalities are enacting laws that define where and how long you may anchor.
