- Description:
There is what appears from a distance to be the ruins of a dock on the SE corner of Petit Cay. It is, in fact, a large sunken barge that was beached on the Cay during a storm many years ago. Each year the wreck deteriorates further and today all that remains is a rusty submerged hull and steel frames protruding out of the water that give the impression of dock pilings.
In settled conditions the anchorage is a great spot from which to explore the nearby cay and to snorkel on the wreck. Many lobsters can be caught in this area during the right time of year.
DISCLAIMER: Before committing to an anchorage, you should confirm that the location is not governed by a regulation that may conflict with your plans. An increasing number of states and municipalities are enacting laws that define where and how long you may anchor.
