Upper Broad Creek #2

  • Location: Neuse River
  • Lat / Lon: N 35° 04.343' / W 076° 56.189'
  • Depth: 6+
  • Tide: 3 feet
  • Description:

Upper Broad Creek will carry depths of 6-12 feet pretty far back. This anchorage provides good protection from all but S to SW winds, where there may be some fetch from the Neuse. You can continue further up the creek, but beware of pilings in the water, some of which are close to the waterline. Depths in this area were around 10 feet. TMobile service was good.

DISCLAIMER: Before committing to an anchorage, you should confirm that the location is not governed by a regulation that may conflict with your plans. An increasing number of states and municipalities are enacting laws that define where and how long you may anchor.

Holding:
Holding is excellent in thick mud.
Shore Access:
No close shore access. Several private homes with docks along the shoreline.
