- Description:
Gum Bay is a shallow indent on the north side of Cave Cay. If there are winds south of east, it is an easily accessible anchorage for a decent nights sleep. The holding is good over clear deep sand.
It's a good place to hide out in settled conditions if you want solitude because the area is lightly traveled. Used in conjunction with the anchorage at West End Cay, the area south of Little Abaco would be acceptable for all but the heaviest of winter cold fronts.
DISCLAIMER: Before committing to an anchorage, you should confirm that the location is not governed by a regulation that may conflict with your plans. An increasing number of states and municipalities are enacting laws that define where and how long you may anchor.
