Pine Cay Hook

• Description:

  Quiet anchorage in sand just south of the shallow sand dollar bank close to the beach in 8-9 feet of water in front of the privately owned Pine Cay. There is a swimming net about 75 feet from the beach so be aware. Offers reasonable protection from stronger E/ENE winds up to maybe 25-30 knots, maybe NE in fairly settled wind of 10 knots. Completely flat in E winds but as the wind clocks to the NE a moderate swell starts from the NE direction so a swell bridle would serve well here. Very close dinghy ride to Fort George Cay from beach exploring and we have seen a ton of dive boats just on the outside reef. If you want night life with lots of bars and restaurants in the T&C, this is not the place. Tourist boats bring people to the "Sand Dollar" shallow bar to, I assume, look for sand dollars and wade.
