Adams Creek - Cedar Creek (MM 187)

  • Location: NC off Adams Creek
  • Mile Marker: 187.4
  • Lat / Lon: N 34° 55.908' / W 076° 38.684'
  • Depth: 6 - 7 ft
  • Tide: 0.5 ft
  • Description:

Anchor towards the southern shore and east of the 5 ft line as shown on the charts. It is deeper than the charts indicate, about 7 ft as you snug up behind the point of land to protect you from a south wind. There is a strip of sand on the south shore for pet relief. Be sure to pick up when done. Big shrimp boats use this harbor all the time. Jonaquin Creek looks inviting and protected but there's a 4-foot bar to get over, deeper to 6 to 7 feet inside.

DISCLAIMER: Before committing to an anchorage, you should confirm that the location is not governed by a regulation that may conflict with your plans. An increasing number of states and municipalities are enacting laws that define where and how long you may anchor.
