Goat Island North
- Location: East Passage
- Lat / Lon: N 41° 29.804' / W 071° 19.594'
- Depth: 20 +
- Tide: 2 feet
- Description:
There are two anchorages near Goat Island - North and West of the island. You can anchor here for up to 14 days then must pull up anchor for at least 3-4 days. This is a somewhat busy anchorage area with boat traffic and some road noise from the bridge. Great holding, but there are many lobster traps and miscellaneous lines and cabling that we pulled up with our anchor. There is free dingy docking next to the Goat Island walking/driving bridge and also next to Safe Harbor marina near the Lobster Shack.
DISCLAIMER: Before committing to an anchorage, you should confirm that the location is not governed by a regulation that may conflict with your plans. An increasing number of states and municipalities are enacting laws that define where and how long you may anchor.
