Russell Island is the largest of the three islands that make up Spanish Wells and the anchorage area on the south side of the island between the power plant and the harbour entrance is a popular spot to stop. The anchorage is exposed from all directions except north however it remains comfortable in most wind directions under 20 knots. There will be occasional wakes from vessels of all sizes entering and leaving the harbour.
