- Description:
Thomas Cay is an anomaly in that it is undeveloped and uninhabited which is a stark contrast to the wind turbines and golf course of its neighbor Over Yonder Cay to the south and the intimate eco-resort atmosphere of Joe’s Cay to the north.
At the north end of the cay there is a well-protected anchorage that provides adequate protection for all but the heaviest of frontal systems. Even though there is little protection from W-NW winds the anchorage is lined with lines of rock that act as natural breakwaters. As a result there is very little swell that affects the anchorage.
DISCLAIMER: Before committing to an anchorage, you should confirm that the location is not governed by a regulation that may conflict with your plans. An increasing number of states and municipalities are enacting laws that define where and how long you may anchor.
