Below Wrightsville Beach the route follows a dredged channel through a succession of marshy sloughs for about 12 miles to Snows Cut (Mile 295), the connecting link with the Cape Fear River. Continuing straight in Myrtle Grove Sound at Mile 295 will take you to Carolina Beach. This is one of the state’s busiest (and oldest) summer resorts but its grocery stores and restaurants stay open off-season as well.
