Lake George, FL

Lake George, FL

The second largest lake in the State of Florida (with the first being Lake Okeechobee) is Lake George, located 75 miles south of Jacksonville. This 11-mile-long lake is 5 miles wide and can be rough when winds are strong up or down its length.

Two beautiful springs in the Ocala National Forest on the west shore of Lake George draw many visitors by boat and by road: Salt Springs and Silver Glen Springs. These two springs feature crystal-clear water at a constant 72 degrees year-round.
