Well run marina with friendly staff. They went out of their way to help track a delivered package. Courtesy truck (bright construction yellow) to run errands to drive to grocery store. Internet service on phones was poor. The marina offers wi-fi, but signal was weak.

Note for WWG: This is an update of an existing review.

Dysart's Great Harbor Marina is a staple of the Southwest Harbor economy, and it's especially well run by dockmaster Micah and office manager Jane Peabody. Owners Ed and Mary Dysart live on-site all summer long and keep their Ellis 36 fishing boat just down the ramp on A Dock.

The marina has a West Marine and a couple of restaurants on-site, and there's an IGA grocery store on the edge of the town where you can provision. Excellent hardware store on the main drag in town.

We've had a seasonal slip at Dysarts for the summer for years--social life on the docks is great, and the Dysarts and Micah and Jane and the dockhands do a wonderful job making everyone feel welcome.

Electricity varies depending on your location but there's 50A 230V electric and, for the big boats, three-phase. Water quality is excellent, with great water pressure. Wifi is free and reaches right to the end of the docks, and AT&T 4G cellular is excellent. Upon request, you can usually borrow the marina's big yellow pickup for short errands.

The friendly, cooperative Dyarts staff makes this one wicked fine place to hang out in the summertime! We enthusiastically recommend Dysart's Great Harbor Marina, whether for a short stay or a terrific summer home. Diesel fuel is available and non-ethanol gasoline is available at very good prices.

Micah and Jane are great and they will help you with anything. We stayed here for over a week and really enjoyed the marina and the area.

The bathrooms & showers are a walk away, but they are clean and roomy. Beall’s Lobster Restaurant is worth the walk or dinghy ride.

While this is a pricey marina, it is the best in the area and worth it. We will certainly stay here again if we come this way.

The marina has a West Marine and a couple of restaurants on-site, and is just a short walk from town where you can provision at the terrific little Sawyer's Market which offers a great selection of fresh produce, fresh seafood and meat, but which isn't known for its low prices. Excellent hardware store in town right across from Sawyers. Super Friendly. Easy trip into the town, loaner truck for provisioning, onsite restaurant and bakery for superb pastries and even breakfast pizza. West Marine also onsite. WiFi not so strong but power and water very good. Definitely a place to use as a seasonal base!

This is it. If you're planning your season and want to know how far N to sail...dont stop before SW Harbor. It's Maine at its finest. And Dysarts is such a great marina to host your stay. Ive spent many season in Down East Maine and will always choose Dysarts.
