Stay away. This marina is horrible. We got overcharged and when I called them about it they hung up on me. There bathrooms are terrible. Dirty and claustrophobic. The gas docks had such a strong current that it is better not to use them. We stayed at the Boathouse Marina on the way back from DC and that was a wonderful experience.

This is a convenient marina for a one night stay. Have added a floating dock area for transients which works well. Staff was very accommodating as we had to extend stay due to weather. Tiki bar is a fun little place with live music on weekends - decent food. Gas docks have a precarious set up — not for us! And their website said $3 per gal when it was actually $6. Bathroom facilities not very good. Know what to expect and you'll be fine. We stayed again on our way out of Potomac from DC visit.

Great location, easy access, restaurant onsite with outside seating so good for dogs. Bathhouse facilities not that great.

Marina is in a great location. The restaurant and tiki bar located there is a big plus, although the marina and restaurant are outdated and a little rundown. This seems to be how things are in Colonial Beach, so it fits for the area. The gas dock is in a terrible location at the entrance to the Colonial Beach inlet with a fair amount of boat traffic and a fairly strong current that changes direction with the tide. We hailed the marina on VHF with no answer and we’re not able to get our slip assignment in advance. I walked to the office from the fuel dock to check in and the slip assignment I received had a boat already in it. When I let the dock manager know, he had to come down to the dock to find us a new slip and was helpful through the whole process, although very disorganized. I still give the marina three stars for location, onsite restaurant and tiki bar, beautiful views of the water, and accessibility to the area. We called ahead and rented a golf cart to explore the town. The golf cart was waiting in the marina upon our arrival and provided us access to this great beach town. The pace of life in Colonial Beach is just slower than it is further up the Potomac River, be ready for that and enjoy it.

Loved the tiki bar. The transient area is a dock versus a slip. Friendly people. The bathrooms were out of order. There is a strong current that is a bit tricky.

Great dockhand. Easy to access and nice floating docks. I'll stay here again when I visit the area.

Came here June 15,2018 with 5 other boats. 2 boats could not get into slips because slips didn’t have enough water. One boat got physically stuck trying to back in while the dock hand insisted there was enough water. This boat draws 5 feet. They then asked if the other boat could wait 3 hours for the tide to come up. Management was indifferent went we tried to talk to them. They went to The Boathouse and were treated very well. We went to the Boathouse the next night also. I highly recommend Boathouse but doubt I will return to Colonial Beach Yacht Center. Boathouse is closer to town and would shuttle us when requested.

Ease of docking - o.k. There was a fellow waiting on the dock.
My primary complaint is the difference between their listing on Waterway Guide versus reality. They advertise $1.50 per foot and then charge $2.00, saying it is more on Sundays. They say they have cable tv, but I couldn't get any. They have WIFI, but it was very slow. The showers are a very long walk from our dock. The floating dock is nice and the people were nice.

Little or no wi fi on outer docks, strong currents on tide change. No captains lounge and shore bathrooms are filthy.
