There has been a significant change to the White City Free Dock. Most of it has been converted into five boat slips, complete with power pedestals and water. According to the Gulf County Commissioners Office these slips, newly completed, will be leased on a monthly/yearly basis to boaters but will not be available for transient traffic. The old free wall, badly damaged by recent storms and not safe for use, remains closed for the moment so there is no transient dockage available at White City. There are "future plans" to recondition the dock and provide accommodation but it is not clear when, and what the circumstances will be. For the moment, it is best not plan even an short term stop here. Things may change in the future.

11/25/2018: Signs by boat ramp say no overnight stays, but when park ranger cruised through he didn't come over to tell us we had to leave. Two additional boats also overnighted...one on fixed face dock on the channel, and another on the floating dock along the seawall. We stayed on end of fixed dock closest to bridge and had 4' depth at low tide; 1' more at high tide. Fishing boats coming into boat ramp were only minimal wakes on Sunday afternoon/early evening. Good Verizon service. SeaTow has a vessel here also

    • WG Editor Comment:

Waterway Guide confirmed with the county October 2018 that overnight docking is not permitted.

This free dock is tranquil and scenic, and the traffic noise from the bridge is fairly minimal at night. The dock does not have any amenities except for restroom facilities in the park. Wakes can be strong if the passing boats don't slow down. Tie up to either the seawall, or floating dock. We saw 9 feet depth along the seawall in front of the floating house. A convenience store with very minimal supplies is about a mile north along the highway.
