April 2021-After multiple attempts to hail them on the radio we had to call on the phone. We were advised to go to C dock. We followed their instructions to the T. The dock hands were all on B dock. Much confusion and no communication between the dock office and dock hands. We ran hard aground. Had to be towed off. Adding insult to injury an employee shouted to us ‘I knew you couldn’t get in here, there’s a sandbar!’ We were never asked if we were ok or if we were taking on water. Tow US pulled us off and over to Casper’s. After we were tied off one Casper’s employee said to the Tow Boat captain ‘ Another Dudley’s victim!’
When booking we gave them all our info. They assured me we could dock there. I sent them an email and a copy of the TOW US bill. Crickets. I would not recommend Dudley’s.

What a hidden treasure! We were the only boat there. It's quiet and protected from the wind. The bathrooms were spotless and lots of hot water. What a bonus to find a brand new washer and dryer avail for us to use. Will definitely come back, probably during the off season as I imagine it would be pretty busy on a summer day.

We spent one night at the St. James Marina. Great dock staff, lovely facilities. It was so quiet. We would stay here again.

We were very disappointed with the Charleston Harbor and Marina. The marina advertises security. The gates to the docks are all tied open. We had no water at our slip. The boat to the left of us was using our water. We had no 30 amp power available to us. The boat to our right was using both 30 amp plugs.
If it weren't for the outstanding service provided by the dock hand - Lulu. We wouldn't have had any service at all.
Because of the swift moving water, at anytime other than slack tide, we had to tie up at the outer dock. No biggie. We were advised at slack tide dock hands would come and help us move. No one came. There we several boats waiting for assistance. Apparently it was shift change and the crew leaving didn't update the next shift. We had to call 3 times. They don't answer the radio. Masks are required in the office, but apparently only for the guests. The staff did not wear masks.
Clean bathrooms and showers..the only positives. I would not recommend this marina.

We had winds from the west at approx 15knots and our anchor held fast. Good holding all night.
