    Half Moon Bay Marina
Sorry to say Half Moon has waned, and is ready to set ..
Despite being a Looper favorite, I cannot believe how this marina has fallen into disrepair since our last visit in 2019.
    - No dockhands … Ok it was a Sunday ..
    - Pilings ready to fall over propped up by 2x4 with screws sticking out 2 inches (Yes I have photos)
    - Wooden docks very deteriorated, some boards having been replaced with plain lumber (not even pressure treated)
    - WIFI 5 stations ,,,, none work
    - Local Condo owners hate the Marina, would not even tell my wife where the facilities where located, and cussed about us walking our dogs

    Not accepting transients right now.
Was there 30 months ago, zero facilities, shared a 30 amp with a generous sailboater.
Tricky 5 miles off ICW and can be a nasty current upon arrival.
Hard to tell who operates this "facility"
Why is South Georgia so devoid of marinas ?

We were wind bound here for 3 days, in our trawler, and we were probably the smallest and definitely the oldest boat in this nice sized marina / yacht club.
None the less, we were treated royally, Gary (dockmaster), was fantastic, put us on a easy in, easy out T-head, offered rides to local Publix ( 1 mile), and was really helpful.
The facilities are very good, tiki bar awesome (both food and service). Chatting to members and locals, they said there was a waiting list for membership here. I am not surprised, huge pool, many tennis courts, gym and hospitality in abundance.
Thanks to Zack, Gary and staff for a great stopover.

Obviously, a fine facility at one time, but the $$$ appear to have dried up. Albeit we were slightly “off season” i.e. yesterday. We were very disappointed, having been lured by their slick website.
We were advised that the beach bar and restaurant were closed at the time of booking... no big deal.
First hint .. we seemed to be an encumbrance to purchase fuel and pump out. Second hint .. marina 90% vacant. Total ghost town after 7.00 p.m. despite their well publicized “best sunsets” … which actually was pretty good .
Ahh well, very good (new) floating, dock, very sheltered.
The kicker, the beautiful “heads” as they call them … actually more a locker room that could have been designed my Marco Polo himself, all for NOUGHT if there is no hot water …… grrrrr.
Efforts to complain via e-mail from their not so slick website … bounced .. hence this post.
    $2.75 / ft … no facilities .. never again.
Currently at Herrington Bay $2.00 / ft .. fantastic .. THIS IS A MARINA.
