Half Moon Bay Marina has been our home for the past few days. It is a good place to base exploration of NYC by the Metro, or the Hyde Park and surrounding areas by rental car.
A new feature has been added two blocks from the entrance road - Apple Farms. It is a produce market/deli/seafood shop with some groceries and specialty items. The produce was beautiful. They have a wide variety of fruits and vegetables. Prices were the best we have seen this year - limes 5/$1, fresh corn 3/$1, XL eggs 79 cents as a few examples. We went to pick up a few items and left with many filled bags. Take your biggest boat bags with you.View location on the Waterway Guide Explorer

Stayed at Half Moon Bay numerous times, including during Hurricane Sandy. By far the safest marina in a hurricane. Not a single boat damaged and water was as calm as a lake. Land mass there blocks any winds with an eastern component.
