As advertised, tranquil spot. My bathtub has bigger ripples! Shared with only a random lone manatee. Me guess is this is a snowbird area. It is late September and early evening. Perhaps 20 home surround the anchorage and I don't see any interior lights on. Looking forward to a peaceful nights sleep.

WhatYachtToDo.com anchored here. Entered via the west from the channel. We are 50' and draw 4.5'. Was on near low tide, did not see less than 9' on entry. 9-11' feet once in. Dropped 25kg Rocna at N26-50.718 W082.17.176. Okay protection from the wind; first had 10kts from the W then swung to NNW then overnight to NNE to ENE. Excellent Verizon and T-Mobile. Quiet area with homes surrounding the cove. Room for 2 boats if smaller. One crab pot noted on entry. Anchor rode came up clean for the most part. A little mud that washed off nicely. Enjoy! A really nice anchorage with only a couple of caveats. There was already one other boat anchored there, and they may have been in the 9 to 12 ft area, but everywhere I went it was consistently more like 7 to 9 ft. (And this was with favorable tide levels. In the winter it could be lower.) There is only enough room for 2 or maybe 3 boats to anchor comfortably. The bottom is very sludgy mud that held well for me, but with 75 ft of rode there wasn't much room for anchor drag before I would have struck a dock.

It has nearly 300 degrees of enclosure, but structures are so low that they gave only mild wind protection. There is a small canal that leads to the north, and the tidal current may swing you more than the wind.

All that said, there is > 10 ft depth at the entrance, I noticed no wakes at all from the ICW, and there was only a little traffic in and out of the anchorage, and they went slowly. The houses surrounding you are quite nice and very quiet making it a picturesque spot.

In summary, I think this is an excellent anchorage, but watch your depths, set your anchor well, and if there are 3 boats already there you will probably have to find another spot.

The depths were at nearly high tide, and during a season when the water is not especially low. Depths were consistent from afternoon to the next morning, and did not seem to drop much overnight.

After a little long day at nightfall setting in this anchorage was a welcome relief with well over 9 to 12 ft deep.
