Gorgeous spot for gator and bird watching, and the AT&T and Verizon data signal here is HOT, HOT, HOT! If you just want to get away and spend a day on your boat "working from boat," this is the place to do it.

Oxbow off the river with excellent wind protection all around. No wakes in the back of the oxbow but probably can be felt if you anchor close to the channel. Excellent holding in mud. No shore access but good cell phone reception for both ATT and Verizon. Plenty of room for a large number of boats anchoring in line with the slight current flowing downriver through the anchorage.. Depths vary between 10 feet to 15 feet through most of the anchorage. with 8' at both entrances to the oxbow. Definitely a first choice for the area. Shore access for pets on the island is pretty sketchy.
