Meridian 408, 4 ft. Draft, 35 lb. Delta plow anchor. This was an exciting Anchorage for us, as we just purchased our boat and this was our very first Anchorage.

We arrived near low tide. Anchored in 6 ft. of water. The tide went down about 2 more feet before swinging back to incoming. The anchor bit on the first try and held well all night. There was also a derelict boat in this Anchorage, but didn't bother us a bit.

The anchorage is beautiful, with plenty of room. The winds were calm, so I can't comment on protection. The current was pretty strong, but the anchor held. Also saw a georgous sunset and watched the sun rise the next morning. The coordinates where we anchored were North 31° 18.701 West 81° 24.44.

Our anchor did not hold after trying twice. Slippery soft mud! Our anchor has always held first try.

Good for going ashore at the beach. Anchored just off of the beach across from green mark. Bottom drops off to 30' at high tide, very close to the shore line. Bugs were a nuisance. Dog walk was limited space but easy to get to

The anchorage is large but the current tears through it. Recommend using two anchors. Shrimp boats use the river, but it's large enough not to worry about them. They also slowed, going passed us. Amazing sunset and sunrise views, there's a gorgeous, sandy beach and pine tree covered bank -- easy access by tender -- where the river enters the waterway.
