Description:
Currents can be strong here, and you should allow for an 8-foot tidal range. Anchor before the charted 1-foot bar, which extends out to the middle of the river.
NOTE: PER GA HB 833 DO NOT ANCHOR WITHIN 150 FEET OF A MARINE STRUCTURE SUCH AS A PRIVATE DOCK OR 300 FEET OF A MARINA, OR WITHIN 500 FEET OF APPROVED COMMERCIAL SHELLFISH GROWING AREAS.

Open, easy to access roadstead type Anchorage. Around the bend but before the shoal mitigates chop from the SE. in mid channel more than 250 yds from homes docks so GA legal. We found 7-9' with a -1' tide. Only a few center consoles. Typical strong reversing currents found throughout the Lowcountry.

This is a beautiful anchorage with marsh on one side and southern charm homes on the other. Decent current runs through but holding in 10' at low tide was good. Almost no traffic through here on the Thursday night we anchored here. Plan on an 8' tide. Plenty of swing room for several boats but only 2 came to enjoy this scenic anchorage. Anchored near the mouth of Breakfast Creek on the south side of the bay.

Great anchorage with room for many boats and excellent holding.

Very peaceful among some homes and trees which give protection from winds from the east.
