Description:
Great place if you like quiet and nature. Visit South Fenwick Island State Park. Lots of birds and armadillos. Nice dinghy dock. Rapid tidal current.

Anchored here back in February 2017 and today February 2022. Very scenic with good holding. Makes for a short day tomorrow to Beaufort, otherwise another 10 miles to the next recommend spot.

Cruising north late this year due to Coronavirus lockdown, we were concerned we’d have issues with heat and bugs. No such experience here. Nice gentle breeze and cool weather made this a pleasant stop.
A little sunset swim in this time of year’s warm water and the blackness that is one of the things we most appreciate about anchoring, and the more views of the typical low country scenery made this a great overnight spot.

We anchored here once since a public dock was shown on shore. We were greeted with strong current all night, up to 3 kts or more. We're told it can reach 6 kts in a spring tide. It's just too much current, we will not anchor here again. There is some feedback that the dock is no longer public but that is not certain.
