This is one of my new favorite stops! Sandy Island was great for walking the dogs...be careful of snakes and feral pigs. Local boats sat on beach for BBQ but left before sunset...fishing boats go by to give some wakes but nothing really after dark. Beautiful sunset and sunrise! Good holding in about 13 feet on inside of corner - set on first try. I highly recommend tho don't want it to become too popular!! There was one other boat when we were there.

Pretty narrow area and lots of dead trees at the bottom in the deeper areas. The traffic while we were there was pretty bad. Lots of people use the beach here and lots of water skiers going by during the day. Slows down and pretty quit at night with some cool baby alligators and fire flies nearby. Good land access and hiking trail on Sandy Island. We couldn't get our anchor to set we'll so only stayed one night.

Beautiful anchorage, but watch for snags. We anchored about 300 yards prior to the sand beach and got tangled in some underwater debris. Called Towboat US and requested a diver. Better to anchor in front of the beach.

Nice, deep anchorage with room to swing. Good holding in a sand bottom. Local boaters report the area is a party spot on the weekend because of shore access. Good walking trails. Currently home to one, very vocal rooster. Some wakes from bass boats but none from ICW. Limited T-Mobile connectivity.

Great anchorage. Easy access to land to walk our dog. Nice walking trail very close to shore that made for a nice and quiet land visit. A few hunting boats came by but not too much traffic. The current was pretty strong during our visit.

We anchored here 11/28/18 with strong west gusts forecast. Easy in, plenty of depth and swing room (52' 4'6" draft). CQR anchor grabbed immediately. Held in the current, barely budged all night. Wish we could have stayed longer than one night. No local traffic. Anchor came up clean in the morning.

Very nice, secluded anchorage. Water is deep close to shore.
