Description:
Swing room is limited but anchoring is possible in the lee of Sugar Loaf Island in 7 to 8 feet MLW (despite the 3.5 feet designated on the chart). Note that high-speed reversing tidal currents rip through this area. Several vessels appear to be permanently anchored fore-and-aft, decreasing the amount of space available and requiring some careful consideration of placement in order to remain distant from the non-swinging boats.

There is room for only 2 small sailboats. We tried and could not fit. There is 7 foot at high tide and reverse current. There is a city dock in front of it. 4 hours free and they do have overnight as well for a fee.

Anchored across from the Ruddy Duck restaurant with 3 feet beneath the keel at low tide. This is well before the basin as one approaches from the east. This was between what appear to be 2 boats to the east and 2 more to the west that are permanently moored. Good holding (only had light NE winds). Current is to be taken seriously here.
