This is a great protected anchorage/mooring field. It is only a short ride to downtown.

Close to the ocean, but well protected by a barrier island, Anastasia State Park. Not very deep at low tide, even the municipal (City of St. Augustine) mooring field is about 4’ deep at low tide. Restaurant and hotels are about 1 mile away, and many more if you can walk 2 miles. There is a nice dinghy dock that the public can tie up to for an hour at most during the busy part of the day, and maybe a couple hours in the evening. The lighthouse park has restrooms and picnic benches under shady oak trees. But no showers here.
