Good holding in smelly mud. Wind and wave protection from all but the south. Surrounded by homes, with a friendly marina at hand ($5 dinghy landing fee). You can walk through the woods from the marina to the Deltaville Maritime Museum, which is nice, but mainly so you can buy a t-shirt to identify yourself as a cruiser! Adequate seafood restaurant behind Marina. Minimal wakes as most locals are polite.

We have anchored here many times. After a relatively narrow channel in & around the well charted shoal(s), the N harbor has 7-9' and though appears full at 1st glance, we usually find a spot. Open to SE winds though the sand spit reduces the wave action. SW winds , you lie across the channel. Very good Marina immediately adjacent, though groceries, hardware & WM are a mile or 2

Great location to anchor. Well protected from all but SE, but shoaled area at the inlet provides break in the waves.

One of the prettiest places you can possibly anchor. Nearby Deltaville Marina only charges $5 per day for landing a dinghy. If you want full access to marina services such as showers, washer/dryer, pool, & loaner car the additional cost is $11 per person. There are weekly and monthly rates also.

Grocery, Post Office, hardware, & West Marine is within biking distance, but I would not call this a bike friendly area.

The depths were less than charted on the east side of the bay. It was a tight anchorage with 5 other boats in the bay. The marina near the anchorage charges you to land a dinghy to take pets ashore. We took the dinghy to the town dock around the point instead. Average anchorage.
