Easy access to the anchorage. Anchor in 15' at low tide. Holding is ok. You dinghy to the Gardner's Basin. You have a 4h permission to dock.

We arrived at low tide so we anchored temporarily at the Atlantic City Anchorage by the Coast Guard station. There was 16 feet MLW at the anchorage icon and the anchor set immediately with appropriate scope out for the incoming (five foot) tide. The only wind and wave protection is from the south. Winds were from the northeast at 10 miles per hour with gusts to 20 and we had a 2mph current keeping us in line with the tide both ways. There is shore access available but we were not going to get involved with going ashore. Cell service is excellent. Overnight the winds picked up and the anchorage became bumpy. The forecast looked like we were going to be in Atlantic City for a while so we moved to the protection of Rum Point Basin across the river. For a quick late afternoon in and early morning out in fair weather this is an uncomplicated stop. We can't recommend it for anything else.

I was rather dreading this anchorage but it was a necessity. In the end despite the noise of the area, it was quite a pleasant experience. I arrived at slack high tide so anchoring single handed was easier than I had feared. Equally I departed at slack. The north wind against the current was interesting but a good stop overall.

Second time anchoring here, held firm both. 3 boats anchoring overnight, plenty of room. Can be noisy from partiers ashore, currents swift so avoid dinghy rides.

This is a good spot for an overnight stop at anchor, but the currents are so strong that I would not want to use the dinghy. The anchor held on the first bight and came up clean when weighing.

Here on a busy weekend afternoon:evening. Traffic and noise, loads of lights from land. Didn't attempt landing. Certainly among the least favorite anchorages all the way from Fl. Best thing is a place to stop on the way N to or S from NYC.
