Very accommodating, nice mooring field, has the "moderm" tray type that holds the line out of the water, although ours still had some dried out barnacles. Warning: they no longer accept power boats over 50'. Made an exception for us as they were no where near full. Moorings over near trees on barrier island still had 10' at our stern which was only about 25' off the trees. There are very few anchorages with safe depths Palm Bay to fort pierce

    • WG Editor Comment:

      Clarify "modem" tray.

A very good anchorage, plenty of water, good swing room, only a few bugs, a few small boats transit through at speed but no issues and anchor comes up clean even though holding is excellent. Boat position will reverse in a good current.

Good wind and wave protection snugged back in, but holding not as good as the mud closer to the point. Had high thunderstorm winds.

Great location downtown D.C. New Dockmaster, very good new floating dock on transient pier Z. No wifi though. Very reasonable cost for location. Have to not mind noise from Reagan National Airport.

Strong current, anchor grabbed instantly, narrow area to anchor almost in a secondary channel, room for 5/6 boats at 10-15' depths. Several moorings taking up wider but shallower south end. Entrance well marked as of this date with plenty of water in 15kt winds.

Here on a busy weekend afternoon:evening. Traffic and noise, loads of lights from land. Didn't attempt landing. Certainly among the least favorite anchorages all the way from Fl. Best thing is a place to stop on the way N to or S from NYC.

Stayed here twice, calm, good holding in mud, many moorings across in east side but west side good, come in far enough to avoid swells/wake from passing sound traffic

Ran in with forecast for high winds. Anchorage decent, road and plane noise Friday evening, then quiet. Spent 36 hours, holding and protection good from n and ne, open to west. A little roll from light river traffic.

Good floating docks behind a breakwater but don't be on the facing T if higher winds are expected. Super location for visiting Jamestown, Williamsburg (free courtesy van) and Newport News Mariner's Museum. Nice resort atmosphere. Good restaurant right at the marina.
