We tried unsuccessfully to contact Everglades Rod & Gun Club for overnight stay. The voice mails on both numbers are usually full. On one occasion we were able to leave a message which was returned the following day. E mail was answered within 12 hrs. (@1am). Turns out, messages including phone are answered offsite by a mother/daughter combo, who don't communicate to each other!
We did get there for lunch. Definitely a cool, interesting old lodge with interesting history revolving around Mr. Collier who owned it as a base for building the Tamiani Trail. It is being maintained including some new piles being driven at their fixed face dock. Still quite rudimentary so we were much happier at the excellent facility just upriver at Everglades Isle (ultra upscale Motor Coach park with an amazingly large floating concrete dock system and first class clubhouse/pool facilities).
Walk or dinghy 20 minutes to visit and eat at the Rod & Gun Club.
fwiw, look carefully at the airboat tours. Most do not go out in the grasslands of the park, instead they explore private islands and mangroves similar to the islands you pass coming in though still fun for many.

Love this place. It was an authentic and historic
I just went from room to room in awe at the decor
Large screened in dining room and great supper
    Pool table and fun bar
Had electricity and water but no one to help when landing at dock but lots of room
Very strong tidal current so use extra ropes
Had to delay leaving till tide rose at 1030 and arrived mindful of the tide
Has a big beautiful cement pool but a bit cool
One shower and bathroom but needed light fixed
Did the airboat ride with everglades 25 minute walk. Really fun Alligators and bryan was a great guide. Learned alot
We were the only transient here and just surprised more loopers do not stop here
    Its a trip

Dinghy up for lunch from Everglades isle. Awesome historic building. Simple lunch with beer and wine. Dock ok for lunch but not a marina. Suggest staying at Everglades isle and welling or dinghy up for lunch/dinner. You could also stay in one of their rooms. Really quaint and different!

This place is a trip! Out of nowhere this hundred year old hunting lodge appears! Dozens of stuffed animals and fish, antique furnishings, billiard table, pictures of old Presidents and celebrities. Has to be seen to be believed!
