Stayed for 3 nights waiting on weather. Rural setting, but a very professionally run marina with 2 restaurants and a nice store. As others said, Captain Sam is a gem and super helpful. Hail him on 16 when you clear the lock and he'll be of great assistance. My only "caution" is that the transients are on a long wall on a narrow but deep channel. If you go forward in, you have to reverse out, or visa versa, plan accordingly. Perfect stop for a Lake O crossing.

Bad first experience with this marina heading eastbound. They "remembered" that they had a fishing tournament the weekend of our one night arrival, and cancelled our reservation 2 days before for a 33ft cruiser. Had to minimally stop for fuel before making it across the lake that we radio'd the lock upon arrival. The dock master on the radio was rude telling us the marina was closed because of the fishing tournament that he expected us to move on until we said fuel up was critical. It was chaos in the lock with boats coming in that weren't authorized to which we heard the lock workers talking about amongst themselves, but not addressing the vessels. Needless to say we fueled up and got out of there quickly. Next time we head eastbound, we'll stop at Port LaBelle Marina if we need fuel before heading across the lake.

This is one of our favorite marinas, a great marina to stay at just before or just after crossing Lake Okachobee. The dock master is friendly and very helpful. They offer a discount on fuel to Boat US members. The Tiki Bar is right on the dock and the food is good.

Contact the dockmaster on channel 16 while you're still in the lock and he will provide you with detailed specific directions on how and where to enter the harbor. For me this was a surprising nice rural resort. They seem to have most anything you may need except perhaps a pump out so plan accordingly. Drinks and dinner in the tiki bar although we left before the music started and a 5:30 breakfast in their diner before pulling out. Other stores and eateries available off site. I would recommend that you contact them by phone for pricing as their website is not up to date. When preparing to depart contact the lockmaster on channel 16 prior to untying to avoid delays due to congestion.

An interesting stop for a night to get ready to cross the lake. When we arrived Capt. Sam advised that a bass tournament was happening and there were 50 boats coming into the dock. He would have to clear a spot for our boat, we were on the end of the dock and thank goodness as it was a Saturday night and the tiki bar was rocking. We did not use any of the facilities, but it was a good 1 night stop.

We arrived for a night, to prepare for crossing Lake Okeechobee. The dock-master was extremely helpful, cheerful and informative. The access is super easy from the river and the amenities are very nice. There are several other little stores within walking distance. The transient slips are convenient with easy access to water, power and facilities. It's definitely a nice place to stop and rest.

Fun stop. Great dockmaster Capt Sam. Dock a bit canted so our stepladder dodgy to use. Tie it off. Shallow in for big boats but no issue for us.

Great stop before crossing the lake. Floating dock that is worn and a little uneven. Capt Sam is fantastic helping get boats safely tied up. Was very quiet on a Tuesday night. Nice ship's store and good tiki bar. A bit of a hike to get the dog to grass.

Another nice evening at R and M. Harbormaster was attentive and the Tiki Bar was awesome as always. Stayed on a weeknight. No loud music as previously reported.

Very easy docking as you park right on the side dock. The dockmaster was helpful as we came in on one engine and he helped us. We stayed on a Friday night which had loud music from the bar next door. Clean showers and toilets were available.

Great half-way point for transiting the Okeechobee Waterway. There is one long floating dock, no current and they have good power, water and wifi. There is also a well-stocked ship's store and a lively Tiki Bar. We were there on a Thursday night, which happens to be Karaoke Night. The patrons are a mix of friendly and dubious locals who aren't shy about belting out their favorite tunes. The food was generous and good enough, but the service was a little sketchy, probably because of the crowd. The marina is well managed by the very personable Mary Ann Martin and her daughter. Dockmaster, Captain Sam, was most helpful, experienced and friendly as can be. Overall, it was a convenient and fun stop.

Good staging to cross Lake Okeechobee. Long floating dock; a little worn but better than many. Dockmaster Sam very friendly and knowledgeable. Told me about the wind and current (there was no current) as I approached; he is a boater and it shows. Other years we had stopped at Moorehaven and this is much nicer. Tiki bar with restaurant on site. Surprisingly good ship’s store with some upscale resort wear.

Stayed here for two nights on our second visit 1/14/21. Captain Sam, the dockmaster was very helpful and friendly. They do have a courtesy car, but it doesn't seem to get much use. We enjoy the Tiki Bar and the food is good. It's a fun spot with live music on some nights. We had no problem spinning around in the narrow channel to face out on the along-side dock. There is no current here and it is well protected from the wind. Watch your air draft if you get towards the west end of the floating dock as there is a low-hanging electric wire there.

Quiet night on the dock. Fueled at 5:30 am, very good diesel price. Tasty food at the Tiki Bar--recommend the Swai fish blackened. Nice selection of draft beers. Thanks Captain Sam!

Nice little marina in the heart of Florida capable of handling boats of all sizes!
Call ahead and reserve your slip as they are limited on dock space and I can imagine that during cruising season it would fill up fast.

This was our second time here. Due to the experience we had last time, we called way ahead and made the dock master aware that I was a single screw without a bow thruster. I was tied at the beginning of the floating docks making it very easy to leave at first light. Dock master was extreamly helpful and very friendly. Drinks at tiki bar a little expensive and food was above average. We left at first light with several unlit bass boats.

The facility is not impressive looking but is actually quite good. The dockmaster is very helpful and the dockage, though limited, is secure, wake-free and in good condition. They have a "restaurant" but it is actually more like a snack bar. That said, the food is actually very good. We did not use the Tiki bar, but it is obviously well-liked by the loccals and features live music several nights a week. The biggest issue is that you can only get there through a small and quirky lock where the lock operator is not very responsive. I would not go back again just because of the lock even though everything else was good.

The lock is only in use when the Lake Okeechobee water level is higher than normal; generally 15 feet above sea level.

We were there last week. Lots of water in the Lake. Nice overnight at Martins. Nice people, especially Captain Sam. Efficient place. Fills up in the afternoon, empties out in the morning. No trouble in or out.

Would give it a higher rating except for a few things.

First, the channel IS narrow, but doable. We turned our 40ft Mainship around with a small wind.... carefully, by putting the bow close to or touching the dock and working the stern around and worked well.

Second the pool is a dirty pool a short walk between some apartments, fair, but still felt good after a hot day.

Tiki bar advertised happy hour which did not exist and drinks were too expensive. Food was ok, but would have rather eaten on the boat. Music was neat and played until midnight (Saturday). Our boat was within 50 feet of the band, so we were "entertained" quite late, and the crowd didn't quiet down until 2 am. Hard to deal with for a 5 o'clock wake up.

And, the Marina was in the mist of a fishing tournament which wasn't mentioned once during the three times I called. Had I know, I would not have stopped. It was a zoo, with way too many bass boats getting in the way and stopped in the channel. That was a mess that I hope to never see again. And they were heading out before sunrise in the morning, some with no lights.

The Dockmaster never once responded. 16 was never answered and the store clerk gave us the only help which was totally inadequate. Getting is was a mess and had to squeeze in where two bass boats just left with 5 ft clearance on the bow and stern.

This is a reasonable stop for an early morning to cross the lake. The channel is very narrow and it was difficult turning my 36, single screw around to face out. Larger boats had to back out. The dock folks helped with the turn around and tie up. Floating docks and a good restaurant. We did not use the heads.
