After teaching history and political science for 28 years, Jay Leach moved his classroom to the open water.
The former Norfolk Academy teacher continued his passion for teaching by opening Patriotic Excursions in June 2018. Now, his waterfront classrooms are the Chesapeake Bay and Atlantic Ocean. The business offers guided tours aboard authentic former U.S. Navy combat vessels.
“Patriotic Excursions is the perfect blend of my desire to educate and my experiences in the public safety realm. Also, it celebrates those who serve and enjoy what many of us in Hampton Roads take for granted,” Leach said. “Our wonderful maritime environment is never the same each day.”
