A vision to transform the desolate Los Angeles River into a bustling oasis featuring cycle paths, play areas, public art and kayaking facilities features in the latest movie from our Dezeen x MINI Living video series.
Created by seven architecture firms, the LA River Downtown Design Dialogue celebrates the 10th anniversary of the Los Angeles River Revitalisation project, an initiative to overhaul areas along the neglected waterway.
Architects' proposals to revitalise the Los Angeles River
The City of Los Angeles allocated each firm a mile-long stretch of the Downtown area of the waterway to reinvigorate. Participating firms include Gruen Associates, WSP, CH2M, Chee Salette, Mia Lehrer + Associates, AECOM and Tetra Tech.
