On the wonderful Portsmouth Virginia waterfront, both the North Harbor Landing and High Street Landing basins offer free overnight dockage for vessels 40 feet and under (36-hour limit, and no more than 3 days in any 30-day period).

There is no electric, water, or facilities. A city-owned, free do-it-yourself pump-out is available at the North Harbor basin. Boaters using either basin should check in at the kiosk across from the High Street Landing for a list of rules and regulations (or you can download it here: Requirements for Mooring Boats at the North Harbor and High Street Inlet).

Portsmouth-Basin-Map.jpgThe Olde Towne Portsmouth historic district is within walking distance, with numerous shops and restaurants, plus the Virginia Sports Hall of Fame – a magnificent facility that should not be overlooked.

Each basin has a passenger ferry dock for easy access to Norfolk across the river.

Want to visit this lovely town but the free docks won't suit your needs? Tidewater Yacht Marina is a block to the north with all the services you'll need – See Marina Close-Up for Tidewater Yacht Marina.

Ocean Marine Yacht Center is also at the Portsmouth waterfront, and Waterside Marina is a quick passenger ferry ride from Norfolk.
